A Mandan woman was ordered to pay more than $273,000 in restitution after pleading guilty to stealing money from the gift shop at Sanford Health.

Sixty-five-year-old Marlys Aune worked in the gift shop for almost 20 years and pleaded guilty to felony B theft of property.

According to court documents, an audit was conducted on the gift shop books after the finance department noticed the lower profit incomes for consecutive years.

Judicial officer Sonna Anderson ordered Aune a deferred sentence for a period of 10 years and placed her on supervised probation.
