A 21-year-old Mandan man was arrested Sunday afternoon for firing a gun in a residential area.
Mandan Police say prior to their arrival, Preston Zander and his father were arguing in the front yard.
When the father went back into the house, he heard a gunshot and saw Zander taking apart an AR-15 rifle.
The man's parents got the son to the ground and sat on him until officers arrived. Zander's father told police they wanted to keep him from hurting anyone.
He's also accused of getting in a hit and run accident earlier the day.
Zander is facing reckless endangerment and duty upon striking unattended vehicle charges. He is in custody and has a hearing scheduled for this afternoon.
