Children of all ages were having fun with the trucks at Mandan's first annual Touch-A-Truck event.
Trucks of all kinds were present, from cranes and side-dumpers to the vehicles of the Mandan police and fire departments. Children had a chance to win toys, hard hats, and more as they participated in the day's events. Roughly thirty local companies brought in fifty-three vehicles to be displayed on Main Street. Adults could discuss job opportunities as their kids climbed onto many of the trucks present.
"It's a great, great thing even for adults who are looking for a career in the industry, you know. To come down here and talk to these people. You know we're not all cut out to go to college so I mean, there are some great job opportunities with these construction companies," said Del Wetsch, Executive Director of the Mandan Progress Organization.
Organizers hope to host next year's event at several locations across the state.
