Update: Name Released of Man Killed in Crash in McKenzie County

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the man killed in a collision Friday afternoon as 42-year-old Jammie R. Petras of Sidney, Montana. The injured driver has been identified as 52-year-old James A. Stanik.

Original Story: One man was killed and another injured in a crash in McKenzie County around 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the accident happened on Highway 85 near Alexander.

A 52-year-old man was driving northbound on Highway 85 when a school bus in front of him began to slow down to make a right-hand turn.

Highway Patrol says the man began to slow down for the bus when a 42-year-old driver from Sidney, MT struck the vehicle's trailer from behind.

The 52-year-old man was taken to McKenzie Co Hospital in Watford City for treatment of minor injuries. The driver from Sidney was killed.
