The new chancellor of higher education met with business leaders in Dickinson Wednesday afternoon to discuss how they see education helping area business.
Chancellor Mark Hagerott has been touring the state to discuss higher education and its impact on North Dakota's businesses.
At the meeting, business leaders suggested adding more areas of study and providing more information on paying tuition. Another idea was promoting higher education to those out of high school, who may want to transition into a new career.
And as Dickinson continues to grow, area businesses need to find ways to better recruit those leaving Dickinson State University and other state schools.
"We're hearing about the challenges, obviously of the skilled workforce, making sure that DSU is dynamic and is growing," said Greater North Dakota Chamber President Andy Peterson.
Hagerott started his position this past July.
