More and more rooms are seeing fewer visitors. Unlike the beginning of the oil boom when hotels couldn't keep up with the number of workers going to the area. However, this means more rooms have become more affordable for travelers.
Terri Thiel of the Dickinson Visitors Bureau says, "really we are back into a historical level that was just prior to all of this and yes there is more rooms, but it also means that those that are coming out to Medora and the Dakota Dinosaur Museum, and all of that they are going to find a more affordable rate and they are going to be able to find the rooms that they weren't able to find before."
Dickinson now has 21 hotels and motels. They say the busiest time, is June through August.
