A dangerous fire broke out at a waste disposal site south of Williston after an explosion early Saturday morning.
The McKenzie County emergency manager says around 3:23 a.m. fire crews from Alexander and Williston were sent to the site off of Highway 85.
When firefighters arrived the fire was so large the crews didn't have the resources to fight it.
The oil-field waste disposal site is owned by the company Tervita, and is now in charge of putting out the flames. It hasn't been determined what caused the explosion.
