Next month, Dickinson drivers should expect traffic delays on State Avenue due to the overpass project.
Ames safety manager Chris Beaver says next month construction workers will begin setting up girders, resulting in single lane traffic.
Workers resumed construction on the overpass in March.
Beaver says in just two months, they've assembled walls, panels, and columns.
Although there are delays now, Beaver says completion of the overpass means an easier drive for Dickinson residents.
"Being able to go over the railroad track instead of waiting for trains to go into the yard or on the main line; It's gonna be a lot safer for the general public and crews and employees that work around here," said Chris Beaver.
The overpass will be completed this October.
