Bismarck Man Pleads Not Guilty to Sexually Assaulting Minors

A Bismarck man pleaded not guilty to counts of sexually assaulting two minors Monday afternoon.

Twenty-three-year-old Michael Brewer was acquitted of similar charges in Morton County earlier this year.

Brewer is facing charges in Burleigh County this time.

He's accused of molesting two 9-year-old girls.

The victims say the incidents happened at a Bismarck hotel's pool last December.

A Bismarck Police Detective says the girls circled private parts on a body chart when they asked where Brewer touched them.

Brewer's attorney argued that there wasn't enough physical evidence to support the charges.

Brewer is facing a maximum of 40 years in prison.

He's being held on a $5,000 bond.

A two day trial is scheduled for January 2016.
