Update: Bismarck Man Incarcerated After Car Chase

By  |

A Bismarck man is in jail after leading officers on a chase that started near Fort Yates and ended in Northeast Bismarck yesterday afternoon.

The Burleigh County Sheriff's Department says even though officers set out tire spikes to stop the red pickup truck, it kept going.

The Highway Patrol and the Morton County Sheriff's Department were also involved as 33-year-old William Schneider headed north and got onto I-94 heading east.

The chase ended around exit 161.

Bismarck Police arrested Schneider for violating his probation for a 2011 case of criminal trespass, simple assault and carrying a concealed weapon which he pleaded guilty to.

Schneider is being held at the Burleigh County Detention Center and has not been formally charged.
