Bismarck Man Charged for Assaulting His Wife

A Bismarck man was charged after his wife says he threatened to kill her with a knife.

Bismarck Police were dispatched for a report of a woman who had been assaulted on Saturday night.

When officers arrived, the 50-year-old Bismarck woman had visible injuries on her face, sides and arms.

The victim says she and 52-year-old Brian Shermer were arguing when he threw her into the pantry door.

According to the affidavit, Shermer held his wife down and hit her with a soup can.

Shermer left the house after he found out his wife had called 911.

He was charged with aggravated assault, felonious restraint and terrorizing.
