Bismarck Man Arrested for Terrorizing

A Bismarck man was taken to jail after he threatened five people with a gun on Friday night.

The Bismarck Police Department had to call the West Dakota SWAT Team and hostage negotiators to get 37-year-old Stephen Akre to exit a home on the 2400 block of East Thayer Avenue.

The five victims and witnesses are between the ages of 42 and 46.

According to the police report, officers saw a single gunshot exit from the outside of the residence.

Akre was charged with terrorizing and could face five years in prison.

He is being held on $500 bond.
