Bismarck Airport Sees Boarding Increase in 2015

2015 was the busiest year the Bismarck airport has ever seen, with almost 260,000 people boarding planes in Bismarck. That's a 6 percent rise from 2014.

Bismarck is the only commercial airport in the state to see more passengers. Airport officials say they were able to have a record year because of the addition of American Airlines and Allegiant flights. Population growth was also a big factor.

"Bismarck's economy has been doing great, the community has grown, MSA is growing, you know I think those are all good, positive things for us in the future moving forward," said Greg Haug, Bismarck Airport.

Dickinson and Minot airports experienced the biggest drop-offs, down 28 and 17 percent, respectively.
