BISMARCK, N.D. - As the 14s are in Massachusetts, the Bismarck 15s made their way up to Williston today as their World Series begins on Saturday. This is the first time ever that the team has made it past regionals.
"I know the kids are pretty pumped. As soon as we won the regional, they were all just thinking to themselves, 'oh, we're going to the World Series', and it's not something that, I mean, not a lot of teams make it there. This is something that the kids are going to remember for the rest of their lives. So it's pretty exciting to be able to help them do it," Bismarck 15s Head Coach Joel Thune said.
The players on this Bismarck team know they have done a lot to get to this point, and are just looking ahead at the game.
"It's a fun experience, you know we've never been there before. We've gone to a regional championship before, unfortunately came up short, this time we got it done, and we're looking forward to the great competition we have," said Mason Trahan, Bismarck 15s first baseman.
The 15s will play Williston at 8 p.m. Central Time Saturday for game one of the World Series.
