MANDAN, N.D. - The State Swimming and Diving meet is less than a month away.
Last week, we meet Mandan's Johnny Mindt in the Sports Spotlight. He's the defending state diving champion, but in the pool the Braves feel they will have a shot at winning the title.
"It's been a really good, exciting year for us. We have a good core group returning. We have the 50-freestyler's and 100-freestyler's and we got some strokers this year. We just need to fill in a couple gaps along the edge as the state coaches say we have a perfect state meet team. We have just enough on the top and a couple below them so we're sitting pretty well as far as that," said Mandan Head Coach Ralph Manley.
The Braves host Williston in a dual on Friday with the Mandan Invitational scheduled for Saturday.
