Home weekend for Marauders

BISMARCK, N.D. - After sweeping last week’s road double-header, the University of Mary Men’s Basketball Team is back on the right path. A path the Marauders hope will end up with a trip to Sioux Falls in the NSIC Tournament.

U-Mary has five weeks, including this one, before post-season begins. After a poor start, the Marauders are in the middle of the North Division.

"The season took us for a shock right away. We kind of let things go downhill. Then two weeks ago we sat down and watched hours and hours of film, and we looked at ourselves in the mirror and realized what we were doing was wrong. We changed up, and we started building off of that, and we're just going to keep trying to keep this going and try to make it to the Pentagon as our final goal," says senior guard Erron Collins.

"The first two that are going to be here, we just have to set the tone and let them know it's not going to be easy to win in our place. Set the tone on defense and let the offense just come and play hard for 40 minutes, and we should come away with the victory this weekend," says Damonta Henry, senior guard.

Crookston is at the MAC Friday, and Bemidji is there Saturday. Five of their last seven have been on the road, and six of their next eight are at home.

"We've had a tough part of our schedule. Coming up in the next 10 games, six teams are under .500 in conference play, so we have an opportunity to really make a play and move up on the conference and stay a stronghold on the fourth seed where we're currently in. But to do that, we have to play well. We have to not play to the level of our competition. We need to continue to get better every day and just make a run here in the last 10 games," says Joe Kittell, Marauders Head Coach.

We'll have highlights of both games at U-Mary Friday, and on Marauders Weekly Sunday following the Night Report.
