BISMARCK, N.D. - Disappointed, that's how the Bismarck Demons felt following last weeks 41-to-nothing loss at West Fargo, and that's a huge understatement.
BHS head coach Mark Gibson said playing so poorly is something we're not used to. He added, the goal this week is to see if his team is willing to compete.
Gibson said, "We didn't get off the bus and it was a huge concern for us because now you turn around and play probably the conference favorite in Minot. If we have the same type of mentality going into that place it's probably going to be the same type of score so we have to start over from square one. It's a big concern for us and we're moving some guys around."
Gibson knows it's difficult moving a lot of players around prior to their WDA opener but he says the Demons don't have a choice.
"From week one to week two is where you want to see that progress. We regressed and that's a huge concern for us. You can throw scores out. You just want to see how your players as a person, as a team and some of our individuals took some major steps backwards and so it's alarming for us. It's a concern for us but you have to move forward," said Gibson.
The Demons are in Minot on Friday night. It's an 8:00 p.m. CST start.
