BISMARCK, N.D. - The Bismarck Bobcats have two representatives going to the Top Prospects Tournament next week.
Jared Resseguie and Jiei Halliday will head to Plymouth, MI for the North American Hockey Legaue’s Annual All-Star Summit.
"It's a great opportunity for them. There's going to be every Division I college recruiting there. There's going to be every National Hockey League team there as well, so it's turned into a huge event," says Layne Sedevie, Bobcats Head Coach.
"It's a huge accomplishment for me, and it's a big honor to be part of that tournament. And I can't thank enough for all the people who have supported me all this way," says Halliday.
It’s a particularly impressive feat for Halliday, who arrived in the United States from Japan just over six months ago.
"We found Jiei through our scout, you know, going out to camps in the summertime. So, but he's a big addition to obviously our team and has really solidified our back end. He's a great skater. He has the ability to be a good Division I hockey player, and I think that's kind of the forefront of his game. The way he skates, the way he defends, and he can really shoot a puck as well," says Sedevie.
Halliday will go into this week’s Sports Spotlight.
