FARGO, N.D. - Today is finally game day. While it seems a little different that the Bison are playing football on a Friday, we can’t complain because it can easily be said that they have a pretty good shot at going back down to Frisco for the Championship game.
Tonight they have to try and get past Sam Houston State. The last time the Bison played the Bearkats was in 2014 so, naturally, things have changed with the way they played then compared to now.
"It's a new OC, it's a new DC. There are some similarities for what they did. But you know, the quarterback ran it a decent amount in 2014. Briscoe is not one of those, he's not going to carry it like that. Defensively they have a new defensive coordinator that has a little bit of a different scheme, but you know, from a few players, but it's good football down there." said Chris Klieman, North Dakota State Head Football Coach.
While they play good football in Texas, the Bison play good football up here in North Dakota, so the guys have to be ready to face a team like Sam Houston State.
"We have a lot of veteran guys that know that it's going to come down to us controlling the line of scrimmage on defense, and being able to rush the passer so that we can maybe get him into some early throws. And then we have to do a great job in the secondary of playing some 50-50 ball," added Coach Klieman.
The Bison hit the field at 7:00 p.m. CST with the Bison Pre-Game Show on West Dakota Fox at 6:00 p.m. CST.
