Right now, things aren’t looking too bad for North Dakota State as they get ready for the FCS Semi-Final game this Friday. Saturday morning they defeated Wofford 42-10. That’s behind them now, as they have to think about their next game against Sam Houston State.
North Dakota State Head Football Coach Chris Klieman says, "we played a really good game on Saturday, but what you did last Saturday has no bearing on what you do the next Friday or Saturday, and so there won't be any over-confidence or any of that stuff, we have a really good football team coming in here that we have a lot of respect for, and a lot of history with."
Last week, NDSU was preparing to face a team that ran the triple option. Well, things will be back to normal for Friday’s game. "One thing is, you don't even grade that game from Saturday,” Klieman says. “You just flush it, and move on, and we'll look at it in the off-season. And now, some of our individual periods we have before we get into our team period, we're actually going to work on our pass rush now, which we didn't work any pass rush. We're going to work some man coverage, and we're going to work some, you know we didn't even have a 7-on-7 period last week. Everything was team, and you work on a lot of cut-backs and things. So it is re-training, re-focusing the guys of, this is a different game plan now."
The Bison continue their playoff run this Friday evening as they host Sam Houston State. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 CT at the Fargodome. You can catch the Bison Pre-Game Show on the KFYR-KVLY Bison Television Network at 6:00 CT on West Dakota Fox.
