Wishek School Board responds to lawsuit

WISHEK, N.D. - The Wishek School Board and district has replied to the lawsuit that was filed against it by a parent. Kathryn Pinke filed the lawsuit last month claiming the school district unfairly banned her from school grounds.

Pinke claims the ban was in retaliation for complaints she made against the school district.

In the suit, she complained after she felt the school district and board mishandled an incident where a child brought a gun to school.

The district and school reply denies Pinke's allegations and says the gun in the incident Pinke filed her initial complaint about was brought to school by a fourth grader and it was a non-firearm, non-functioning starter pistol.
