North Dakota winters seem to drag on for a long time, Mandan's Parks and rec is trying to help.
Winter Daze kicked off Sunday with a Luau at the Mandan Aquatic Center. More events will be held throughout the week to give residents something to do outside of the home. The Luau was a tropically themed swim day for kids. other events throughout the week include a volleyball tournament, and water aerobics classes.
"Just giving us something to do in the Winter. In the Summer it's super easy to find something to do. You have good weather, you can be outdoors. Winter Daze is our way to get people active," said Kendra Weigel, Facilities Supervisor.
