Wiilliston, N.D. A Williston man facing a manslaughter charge in a pedestrian's death has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in district court.

Bryan Wipf pleaded not guilty earlier this year, but today he pleaded guilty to felony C negligent homicide and misdemeanor B driving with a suspended license.

Last December, authorities say Wipf hit 64-year-old Lyal Forsberg, who was crossing the street in downtown Williston and died moments later.

The prosecutor recommended Wipf be sentenced to five years in prison with three years suspended. He has already served more than six months.

Wipf’s sentencing date has not been set. The judge has ordered a pre-sentence investigation
