WILLISTON, N.D. - A Williston man accused of shooting two men in May has been charged with murder.
The Williston Police Department says 32-year-old Lamar Putney was charged with two counts of murder following results from the state lab.
Court documents say Putney gave a different account to officials as to what took place that day.
Documents say Putney told investigators that Diandre Lott and Donzell Washington had a gun, but the lab result showed neither Lott's nor Washington's fingerprints could be found on on any of the weapons recovered from the apartment.
The investigation found Lott was shot twice in the upper body and once in the head, while Washington was shot multiple times in his upper body.
The autopsy found both men died from the gunshot wounds.
The incident took place on May 17 when law enforcement officials received multiple calls of shots fired at an apartment building. When they arrived on the scene, two men were pronounced dead.
No court proceedings for Putney have been set.
