WILLISTON, N.D. - A Williston man was shot Monday after an argument.

The Williams County Sheriff's Department says they responded to a rural address west of Williston and found 40-year-old Dakin Strait shot a 35-year-old man in the leg.

Strait was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He's currently being held at the Williams County Correctional Center.

"It was basically, from what we can tell, is an isolated incident. Unfortunate circumstance that played out in this event. I don't think there is anything that was big leading up to this or that is going to be on going from it," says Capt. Verlan Kvande, Williams Co. Sheriff's Office.

The victim is recovering at Trinity Health in Minot.
