This week, the Miss North Dakota Pageant is in Williston.
This is the 30th year the Western Star City has hosted the event, and the plan is to make it bigger and better than ever. All week, contestants are rehearsing for Saturday's grand finale performance. They will also be making several appearances and getting ready to compete for the coveted Miss North Dakota Pageant title.
"I've actually never been to it before, but it's very exciting. I think it's 20 of the past Miss North Dakotas are here to be in it, so it's just like a big new thing, and very exciting," says Jane Peterson, Miss Norsk Hostfest.
"This is more than just the three day competition. Day and night we're rehearsing, we're practicing, we're around each other and it's mentally and physically straining. So the work that us girls and then the production team puts on to make this happen is incredible," says Bailey Schumann, Miss Carrington.
The final competition is June 11 in the Williston High School Auditorium.
