Williston Relay for Life Chapter hosts 'Survivor Social' for those who beat cancer

Williston, N.D. Over the last seven years, Williston's Relay for Life Chapter has raised more than $1 million.

To kick off the festivities this year, the chapter held a Survivor Social for those in the area who have survived their fight with cancer. The social includes food, music, a speaker and a chance to grab their survivor t-shirts for the event later this month.

"Survivors are the reason we relay for. We want to be able to show them how special that they are and we just want to have a place for them to get together and visit," says Pam Stromme, Relay Leadership Committee.

This year's relay will be at Williston State College July 30.
