WILLISTON, N.D. More information has come out in yesterday's shooting and search for a person of interest. The Williston Police Department says the shooting Tuesday morning was a targeted drive by.

Two people were shot shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday. As of Wednesday morning, they both were still in the hospital.

Police identified 21-year-old Jonah Hendricks as a person of interest. Police say around 6 a.m. Tuesday, they found a vehicle burning on Highway 2 they believe belonged to Hendricks.

Police tracked him to the Dakota Ridge Apartments, where they say he was temporarily living. As police were executing a search warrant, they found Hendricks' body. Police say Hendricks was responsible for the shooting.

"The evidence is suggesting that Mr. Hendricks was the suspect, was the person involved with the shooting incident reported yesterday morning," said Lt. Det. Jacob Gregory, Williston Police Department.

Police say there is a potential second person of interest in the case. They say they are continuing to investigate.
