WILLISTON, N.D. - Since Thanksgiving, the Williston Police Department has had more than 31 reports of theft in the area.

So far, Williston Police say they have linked 17 of the cases together. A suspect is in custody, but the department believes there are other suspects out there. A search warrant did find a large amount of stolen items.

The thieves would break into garages in apartment complexes in the Harvest Hills and Pheasant Run areas of town. Police believe the break-ins are not random and are asking the community to keep garages closed as often as possible.

The department is also asking people to check their properties to make sure nothing has been stolen.

If you notice something has been taken, call the department at 577-1212.
