You've certainly heard of coffee and donuts, but this gathering is called Coffee with Doulas.
The Bismarck Doula Community meets once a month to answer questions. A doula supports a mother during pregnancy, birth and post-partum.
“It's not just for somebody with a midwife, not just for somebody with an obstetrician, not just for somebody having a home birth, or a hospital birth epidural, non-epidural,” Bismarck Doula Community President Katie Logan said. “Any of those choices that you make you aren't going to be judged from your doula, we're going to help you be the most successful in that choice.”
Logan says doulas don't help deliver babies, they are just there to provide the support a mom needs.
