BISMARCK, N.D. - In a little more than a year the We Support the Badge initiative in Bismarck-Mandan has gained recognition.

Now, with the launch of a new video, organizers hope it will attract people to a career in law enforcement.

The video that is focused on the Bismarck Police Department highlights the department's divisions. The goal is to use the footage as a recruitment tool, but also to show the community what they do.

The Bomb Squad, West Dakota Swat Team, and Investigations are showcased.

The video will be displayed on the department's Facebook as well as the city government's website.

They also wanted the video to illustrate how officers are members of the community.

"It was also important to tell the story of the individual officers themselves, that it's not just their service to the community as law enforcement professionals but also they're part of our community, they're family members, they participate in the quality of life here and I think that was critical to us to," said Harley Engelma, PRIMUS Inc president.

PRIMUS Incorporated is the non-profit leading the We Support the Badge campaign. Mandan Police, Morton County Sheriff's and Burleigh County Sheriff's Departments will also have videos.
