Watford City man charged with GSI

WATFORD CITY, N.D. - UPDATE: Nov. 22 - A Watford City man accused of GSI has pleaded not guilty.

Court documents say 28-year-old Christopher Loftin punched his girlfriend in the face after telling him she didn't want to have sex. The documents say he proceeded to have sex with her anyway.

If convicted, Loftin could spend the rest of his life in jail.

His bond has been reduced to $125,000. A jury trial has been set for February.



ORIGINAL STORY: Oct. 17 - A Watford City man has been charged with gross sexual imposition.

Court documents say 28-year-old Christopher Loftin punched his girlfriend in the face after she told him she didn't want to have sex. After punching and choking her, he proceeded to have sex with her anyway.

Loftin faces a felony double A charge of GSI, as well as lesser charges for aggravated assault and interfering with an emergency call.

He is held on $250,000 bond. His next court date is in November.
