MINOT, N.D.- Some grant money will help the Ward County Sheriff's Department and Juvenile Detention Center acquire much-needed defibrillators.
The Juvenile Detention Center applied for a $2,650 grant last October so they could purchase a defibrillator.
The Sheriff's Department also submitted a grant application for $4,800 to purchase defibrillators for their patrol cars.
Every marked patrol car will have its own unit.
“I am happy to say that we were approved for the grant, and I am asking for your permission this morning to accept the grant,” said juvenile detention officer Kristen Holte.
The St. Joseph's Community Foundation awarded both of the grants to the Sheriff's Department and the J.D.C.
