MINOT, N.D. - As Hurricane Harvey victims deal with the wreckage of one of the most devastating natural disasters, people throughout the nation work together to find ways to help. Here in Minot a local man is gathering items to send to those in need.
After witnessing the Minot flood of 2011 and Hurricane Katrina, Velva local: Mike Soli says he didn't want to miss the chance to offer a helping hand this time around.
So, he's gathering everything from baby wipes to water and heading to Houston.
"Hurricane Katrina I just kind of sat idle and I didn't do anything about it. The Minot flood I didn't do anything about it and now this kind of, this hit hard. So this is why I kind of came up with the idea to do something and bring some much needed supplies to the area," says Mike & Jennifer Soli, Delivering Items to Houston.
Soli plans to haul his trailer down to Houston by the end of this month. If you'd like to donate you can stop by the Walmart parking lot this Friday September 8th between nine and five.
