Vacant school board position filled

BISAMRCK, N.D. Bismarck Public Schools have selected a new school board member.
Small business owner, Jon Lee will serve a 10 month term in place of Scott Halvorson, who previously resigned.

The school board interviewed 12 applicants and anonymously ranked each candidate's position.
Then they debated on the top two candidates before coming to a decision.​

For a short time school board members were deadlocked.
Ultimately the board voted, 3 to 1 in favor of choosing Jon lee for the vacant seat.

Matt Sagsveen was the deciding vote, in his own words he took "the unenviable position" of appointing Lee to the position.
Heide Delorme voted against Lee.​
