Urban Harvest begins in downtown Bismarck

The 12th annual Urban Harvest started today in Bismarck.

The event transforms the corner of Fourth Street and Broadway into an open-air market that features a variety of local artists, crafters, food vendors, farmers and entertainers.

It was started in 2005 by four women who returned to Bismarck to raise families and wanted Bismarck to have an outdoor public market.

"This is Bismarck's only open air market. We accept vendors only from North Dakota and we promote locally produced goods and services," said Anita Hellman, Urban Harvest.

The market will take place every Thursday through the middle of August.
