UPDATE: Man arrested for threatening to shoot Sen. Heitkamp

FARGO, N.D. - UPDATE: 1/10 3:01 p.m. Kevin Olson has been charged with Mailing Threatening Communications.

UPDATE(Valley News Live) U.S. Capitol Police were in Fargo Tuesday morning investigating threats made against Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D- N.D.

Fargo Police tell Valley News Live that the Red River SWAT team was called in to help execute a search warrant around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home near the 1600 block of 51st Street South.

An official with Senator Heidi Heitkamp's office confirms to Valley News Live that the senator has had threats made against her. She referred further questions to the US Attorney's Office.

Neighbors tell us the man living at the house was arrested.


ORIGINAL STORY:U.S. Capitol Police out of Washington, D.C., are on the ground in Fargo and involved in the execution of a search warrant in south Fargo.

Fargo Police say the Red River SWAT team was called in to help around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at a residence near The Home Depot at 17th Avenue and 45th Street South.

Police are not releasing any details about the nature of the warrant or if any arrests have been made.
