KARLSRUHE, N.D. – Crews have successfully cleared railroad tracks near Karlsruhe that were blocked off by a derailed train Monday morning, and have reopened the tracks to traffic, BNSF spokesperson Amy McBeth has confirmed.
Nineteen cars from a BNSF train carrying soybeans went off the rails early Monday morning just northwest of the town, and six of the cars derailed.
There were no injuries in the derailment.
It’s unclear what caused the derailment, though McBeth says they are continuing to investigate.
McBeth says that, as of this point, the National Transportation Safety Board or other federal agencies have not gotten involved in the case.
