Tauros fans welcome back team, celebrate roller coaster season

MINOT, N.D. - The Minot Minotauros have returned to the Magic City, following a miracle run through the Robertson Cup playoffs that left them one goal short of the title.

Once a long-shot to even make the postseason, the Tauros went on to win the Central Division, and then pulled off a stunning come-from-behind victory in the Robertson Cup semifinals to reach the championship.

The teams fans and boosters headed out to Maysa Arena this evening to cheer on the team as the bus rolled in.

Many Billet families came out to welcome home their players.

Tauros super fan and honorary captain Aaron Bliven joined in on the fun.

“We're here just to let them know that we support them, and even though they aren't coming home with a Robertson Cup, we still love them. Runner-up is extraordinary in our minds. This has been a good year and we're hoping for more in the future,” said Minotauros Booster Club President Miranda Schuler.

“For me personally, I had a great time calling that game, having probably two or three hundred Minot fans in the building and knowing there were so many places back here watching,” said Minotauros broadcaster Ken Oda.

This was the Minotauros first ever appearance in a Robertson Cup final.
