Sunday "blue law" repeal effort moves forward

The fight to repeal the Sunday closing laws in North Dakota took another step forward.

Secretary of State Al Jaeger says he has approved the format of the petition and the committee may now obtain signatures.

More than 13,400 valid signatures are needed for the measure to be on the June 12, 2018 primary ballot.

The valid signatures must be submitted to to the Secretary of State before midnight on February 12, 2018.

If the committee wanting the changes wants the measure on the November ballot, the valid signatures need to be delivered before midnight on July 9, 2018.
