MINOT, N.D.- Minot State University hosts the Region 8 one-act play contest Thursday for ten schools in the Ward County area.

This is not only a time for the stage players to show off their hard work, but for arena for writers, directors, and stage crew as well.

“We work so hard all year and it adds up to this, you know. So this is kind of, just, what our hard work went into, and if we don't win, it’s kind of discouraging. It kind of ends there. We love what we do and we want to keep going, so that’s what winning this competition means,” said Ashley Nash, Glenburn High School senior, who was in the competition.

Of the ten schools competing, the two best performances will send their school's troupe to the state contest held later this month, Nov. 21 and 22, in Jamestown.
