State, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe collaborate for elk hunting season

BISMARCK, N.D. - The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and the North Dakota Game and Fish Department have announced that non-native elk hunting will be permitted on reservation land.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the state and the tribe has created the hunting unit E6, which will be managed by the state and the tribe.

The tribe will continue to issue licenses to Native Americans on the reservation, and the state will issue them to non-natives.
