Slide the City returns to Mandan

Although the days sort of crummy, people still went out to the third annual Slide the City event in Mandan.

The 1,000 foot slip-and-slide is a great family fun event.

"It's not the nicest weather today, but that doesn't stop people. There's still something for everyone here besides just the slide. We have Saturday in the park, it has free inflatable's for kids, and we also have food vendors," says Kelly Churchill, Mandan Park District.

People of all ages came out and rode down the slide.

"It was so much fun," says Kelsey Roll.

"It was a lot more fun than we thought it was going to be. Next year we will buy the all-day pass," says Katelyn Sorul.

"We were definitely cruising and spinning on the way down, so it was fun," says Bridget Meherer.

It was all smiles and laughter.

"I'm pretty excited. the weather is kind of putting a little bit of damper on it. We haven't gone down yet, but I'm sure it'll be fun either way, even if it's cold. I'm excited," says Landon Felch.

The kids enjoy getting launched down the slide, while the adults are a little cautious.

"The kids love it when we're pushing them, and then the older people are like get out of our way," says Rudy Guillen, volunteer.

Despite the chill, it's been an all-around fun day.

The fun doesn't need to stop yet, because Slide the City goes until 7 tonight! Make sure you go check out the party on Sunset Drive and hop on a tube.
