MINOT, N.D. - UPDATE: One suspect is in custody after shots were fired in Northwest Minot.
The suspect was transported to the hospital for care, but it is uncertain if the injuries were self-inflicted. No other major injuries have been reported.
The incident prompted school officials to lockdown Ramstad Middle School for a short period of time. The city says there was no immediate threat to the public, and the lockdown was just a precaution.
Because police were still blocking traffic near the trailer court as school let out, parents were asked to use an alternate route to pick up their children this afternoon.
Police are still restricting traffic into Northland Trailer Court, but the other streets previously blocked off have now reopened.
ORIGINAL STORY:The City of Minot is reporting shots fired in a trailer park in Northwest Minot.
They say no injuries have been reported.
The Minot Police Department is on scene and traffic has been blocked from entering or leaving by way of 30th Avenue NW from Broadway to 8th Street NE.
Ramstad Middle School has been urged to undergo lockdown by authorities but there is no immediate threat to those in the school.
Parents can pick up students by way of 36th Avenue from Broadway or 16th Ave NW.
Minot Police say there is not an immediate threat to the public outside of the perimeter from 8th Street to Broadway, but they are encouraging the public to use extreme caution in the area.
