Shoppers head to downtown Minot for shamrock hunt

BISMARCK, N.D. - What better way to drive downtown business than through a shamrock scavenger hunt?

Somewhere over the rainbow, in the heart of the Magic City, downtown business owners say they have a pot of gold you can try getting your hands on.

"Each business contributes three fifty dollar prizes and then there are three of us who just agreed to create the pots of gold. So there are three total pots of gold," said MainStream Boutique owner Pam Karpenko.

The downtown merchants say hosting this pot-of-gold hunt will bring shoppers downtown, as they search for these heart of the city shamrocks.

"I think just sharing the event has helped business. We had nice traffic yesterday it was a nice sunny day. It was great to see people out, downtown and enjoying the weather," said Main Street Boutique owner Val Stadick.

Shoppers can only earn one of these 'pots of gold' if they follow the rules and find all of the shamrocks.

"You gotta find the glammed up shamrocks in all eleven businesses," said Karpenko.
