WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. John Hoeven, R-ND, says that Alabama U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore should step aside if the accusations against him are true.

Hoeven posted on Twitter: “The allegations against Roy Moore are very serious and if true, he should step down as a candidate for the Senate.”

Hoeven is one of more than at least 20 Republicans who have shared similar thoughts on Moore, who faces a series of sexual assault or harassment accusations, including from one woman who said she was 16 at the time.

Moore won a runoff primary election in Sept. for Jeff Sessions’ open seat.
