MINOT, N.D. - The City of Minot has installed some added security at their water department booth downtown.
Construction crews have installed bullet-proof glass paneling around the front of the department where residents pay their bills.
The issue came before the Minot City Council last fall, after staff shared concerns over members of the public confusing city hall with the police department, since the buildings are connected.
The council initially pushed back on the idea of installing the glass but eventually moved forward with it.
Crews also installed a locking glass door near the water department to add more security.
The glass cost the city $11,000 to buy and install.
