DICKINSON, N.D. - Sanford Health is expanding in the western part of the state. The healthcare provider opened a second clinic in Dickinson Thursday.
Patients who were with Great Plains Clinic can expect to see familiar faces working under a new name.
"Having you part of the family, keeping you here in this community and being able to deliver outstanding healthcare right here is what we want to do," says Dr. Craig Lambrecht, Executive V.P., Sanford West.
The new Sanford Health East Dickinson Clinic is replacing Great Plains but will be offering much of the same services.
"Continue to have family practice, internal medicine, pediatric services, in addition to full x-ray, full lab, and their diabetes, which is a big thing over here, and pharmacy services," says Dr. Amy Oksa, General Pediatrician.
In addition to expanded services, the west clinic will now have a full time medical oncologist.
"As we bring oncology service to Dickinson, we try to bring as much stuff locally as we can, and it just allows the continued growth of services right here in town,"says Dr. Michael LeBeau, V.P. of Clinics, Sanford West.
The staff says the expansion will make checkups more convenient for patients.
"You can go to the east or the west clinic if you need a lab drawn. You can go to either one. So say your physician is in the west clinic, but you live closer to the east clinic, and you need your INR done or something, you can just come on over to the east clinic to have it done," says Oska.
Dr. Oksa says the expansion gives staff the chance to work with more of the Dickinson community.
