KILLDEER, N.D. - The state Oil and Gas Division says there was a saltwater and oil spill about 25 miles north of Killdeer last Tuesday.

Deep Creek Adventures reported the incident at a saltwater disposal well, saying about 570 barrels of saltwater spilled, along with 10 barrels of oil, because an automatic shutoff valve failed and the tanks overflowed.

It says, however, that most of the fluid remained inside a dike.
