Update: Suspect in Minot homicide taken into custody

MINOT, N.D. - UPDATE: (4:22 p.m.) Minot murder suspect Kommika Gregory taken into custody without incident near New Town, N.D. at about 4:00 p.m. Thursday.


UPDATE: (3:00 p.m.)

Police say the Mazda CX9 that Minot homicide suspect Kommika K. Gregory was seen driving has been located at a north Minot residence.

Gregory was last seen leaving the area in a black SUV style vehicle with unknown plates.


UPDATE (10:50 a.m.):

Minot Police have identified a suspect sought after in Thursday morning’s homicide as 38-year-old Kommika K. Gregory.

Police say Gregory was last seen driving a blue 2011 Mazda CX9 with a North Dakota plate: 060-CAV.

If anyone sees the vehicle, you are urged to contact 911 and inform the dispatcher of the location. Do not approach the vehicle.

Police say a 58-year-old man was pronounced dead at a residence on South Main Street in Minot after police responded to a report of a shooting shortly before 8 a.m.

Police also say that rumors on Facebook of an active shooter in Minot are not correct. They say it’s an isolated incident and the suspect and victim were acquaintances.

Police reiterate there is no immediate threat to anyone else in the community.

A man was killed in Minot Thursday morning.

Police say they responded to a shooting at South Main Street.

Once they got to the scene, they found a man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
